Fort Worth, TX – March 2012 – Our F-35 Production group has recently started using tablet-style computers that contain all the process-related information that an operator needs to build an F-35 harness. The tablets store files that contain all tool lists and specific wire preparation and connector assembly instructions that were otherwise stored in volumes of paper copies.
So from the MPS instructions, the operator calls up a particular file and has all the information right there where they are working. Since implementing this new tool:
- The operators have shaved time off their builds since they have all information at their fingertips.
- Copy/print costs have been eliminated.
- Only the most current version of each document is accessible as the files are stored in our main computer server.
